A Short Checklist to Follow Before Getting Botox

At this current day and age, some people are still wary of getting a Botox injection. And you know what? That’s perfectly fine! If anything, this only shows that the consumers of today really are smarter than their forebears!

So, if you happen to be considering getting a Botox treatment, then do know that we at Cosmetic Culture wholeheartedly support your decision to do so! However, we would consider ourselves remiss if we don’t inform you of some essential “tickboxes” that you have to check on prior to signing for one!

So, what may this be, then? Well, here are some pointers you should take into consideration before getting Botox for your skin!

1. Research your cosmetic specialists very carefully

The cosmetics industry is booming here in Australia. Unfortunately, that only led to a lot of fly-by-night practices popping up here that are often unlicensed by the appropriate regulatory boards in town.

So, if you somehow saw one offering a ridiculously affordable deal somewhere, please do your research before excitedly jumping in on the fray. Know the track record of the surgeon in question, and do consider asking two or more surgeons about how they proceed with their respective treatments. Price is good and all, but it is the options available to you that matter more.

2. Talk with your doctor honestly.

You ever hear about that line of clients having to be honest with their lawyers before they proceed with a solid litigation plan? Well, let’s hope you won’t be suing any doctor for malpractice, which is why it’s doubly important for you to be completely open with your surgeon of choosing about what you are expecting from your Botox. Do you expect to look younger instantly after the treatment?

Which part of your face would you want to look “tighter”? No question is really ridiculous for this purpose, and you should open up issues you would want to address as early as before your scheduled Botox appointment.

3. Be aware of the medicine you’re taking prior to Botox treatment.

So, now that you have been booked for an appointment, what’s the next thing to do, then? Well, for one, you have to take stock of the drugs you are taking regularly like aspirin, ibuprofen, vitamin E, or any other “circulatory” medication. The reason for that is simple: botox takes a long time to settle in your skin, which means that it can cause some bruising to your face. If you are taking any of the drugs mentioned in this item, then it is recommended that you take a week of from drinking your regular dose.

So, make sure that each one of these “checkboxes” have been ticked off, and you’re good to go for your Botox treatment! Good luck!
